There is a good video discussing the topic of "ad orientem" liturgy that is well worth watching.

I'll agree with one of those interviewed that it is disturbing to hear people speak of ad orientem worship as though it might be harmful, or divisive, while nothing could be more Catholic in both the narrow - as in regards the faith - and the wider - as in universal - aspects of the term.
