I must admit that when I first heard of Bergoglio giving away the relics of St. Peter to the Orthodox patriarch I thought there was a misunderstanding. That article was from Gloria.tv and titled "Francis Gone Crazy? Dumps Saint Peter's Relics to Schismatics" and I was more than willing to conclude that there had been a misunderstanding - that perhaps he had simply lent the relics of St. Peter for veneration, although even that would have been bad enough.

That Bergoglio acts like a crazy man, that he hates the Church and Her traditions with unusual dedication we all know by now. However, this story still sounded a bit too spectacular and so I decided to wait for further details from other sites. 

It did not take too long for the story to be confirmed and  he had indeed given away the relics in one of his many look-at-me-I-am-so-unlike-any-other-pope-in-history maniacal gestures.

To be fair I should have accepted the story at face value because I have one rule which has seldom led me wrong when it comes to Bergoglio: The worse the rumour the more likely it is to be true. Apparently, this involves reports as well, not only rumours.

We can hope that once the papacy returns to Catholic hands and the Novus Ordo has been consigned to the stinking trash heap of history , that the relics will find their way back to where they belong.
