The good Fr. John Hunwicke has a very good brief attach on the notion that the pope is above Church law. He completely rejects the notion, as do I. It is not a Catholic position and is indeed a caricature of both the words of Christ and the papal office itself.

The actor who played Christ in the movie "The Passion of the Christ", Jim Caviezel recently gave one of the best Catholic speeches seen to date in front of a gathering of Catholic students. Although there were some NovusOrdoisms in his speech, there is no doubt that this is a man who takes the Catholic faith seriously. It cannot be easy for him in such a Christo-phobic industry and town.

The speech he gave was about 10 times more Catholic than anything I have heard a Novus Ordo pope give - with the exception of Pope Benedict XVI. It was also about 1,000 times more Catholic than anything I have heard Bergogli give.

We were also informed that Bergoglio's crowd sizes are shrinking even further, even in Latin America.  Long may that continue! It might not be long before the media wakes up to the fact that people are not buying the idea that Bergoglio is popular.

It's amazing that Bergoglio's handlers are so hubristical that they continue to think he can fill these large venues even though the numbers of his general audiences have completely tanked, added to the fact that nobody really considers Bergoglio to be a moral leader. Maybe they are in an underhanded kind of way trying to undermine him, except in stealth, by allowing the discrepancy between the media portrayal of him and his actual perception by Catholcis to be so blatantly exposed.
