For many people today, practical atheism is the normal rule of life...If this attitude becomes a general existential position, then freedom no longer has any standards, then everyting is possible and permissible.

Day's Links:
A filial correction was issued by prominent theologians and scholars to Bergoglio on August 11th. The SSPX joined in with Bishop Fellay and Fr. Brucciani, the provincial for the English chapter. This correction was made public today.
On the face of it this might not seem like much given that the only bishop who joined in is not even a diocesan bishop or a Vatican appointment. However, it is more important than it seems at first because it actually accuses Bergoglio of spreading or enabling heresies and points out the actions and writings of Bergoglio which have led to these heresies. The blame is put squarely on him and the responsibility to correct these errors is laid firmly at his feet and desk.
This is important because in NOChurch, the practice of canonising popes has been more or less going on auto-pilot: A pope dies, a canonisation process starts. If nothing else, this correction will amount to a stumbling block for Bergoglio's canonisation process because the issues brought up will have to be answered and will never be able to be brushed aside.
History will remember that Bergoglio was so obstinate in his pursuit of heresy as to force public corrections from prominent faithful Catholics of the day. In fact, his present-day promotion of heresy will be made more difficult.
The secularists can see that he is not Catholic, the faithful Catholics can see that he is not Catholics and the sedevacantists can see that the man is not Catholic. It is only the big mush of Novus Ordo Catholic-lite folks who do not see it, and even there I am sure they would be able to spot it if the media was not excusing Bergoglio and promoting him, and that goes for both the anti-Catholic secular media and the mainstream Catholic media.
We can be sure that Bergoglio will within a week or two come out with one of his usual rants against rigid Catholics and such, bitching and griping as he always does whenever he is opposed. It is so much part of his template that nobody even takes much notice of it anymore.
Now if we can only get the cardinals and bishops on board and have them issue a formal correction, his legacy will be sealed and it will make it easy for a future Catholic pope to purge all his legislation from the books.
