It is sad to once again see Peter Hitchens go on a totally unjustified and uninformed diatribe against Donald Trump. The fact remains that Donald Trump has not threatened anyone with arbitrary arrest and has simply said he will allow a special prosecutor to look into Hillary Clinton's crimes, something he would not have had to do if the law had been allowed to run its course by the corrupt regime in charge at this moment. His views on immigration are very sound, and there is nothing fantastical about his economic policies - China has protectionist policies and they have served it well.

He seems not to understand just how far down the sink hole the current regime has taken the country and is gravely mistaken if he assumes that there would have been much room for a popular uprising against the cultural marxism that has been forced down people's throats, what with threats to shut down Christian institutions across the spectrum. Furthermore, he seems to assume that a man with gentlemanly conduct would have been able to withstand the brutish attacks that the leftist thugs threw at The Donald when history has shown precisely the opposite.

On many points Peter Hitchens is quite well-informed. If he insists on calumniating Donald Trump with outright lies and misconceptions then it is better he sticks to British politics, of which he has a far better grasp.
