I suppose there can hardly be any more validation of Cardinal Sarah's observation on silence, wherein he states that

God is silence, and the devil is noisy

than to remember that Bergoglio is always talking, whereas his predecessor who tried to draw people to God, was frequently silent.

As good as Peter Hitchens is with British politics, his latest anti-Donald Trump rant is proof that he simply does not understand either what is driving people behind Trump or the U.S. system, or the diffrence between these 2 opponents, widening by the day. The biggest proof of that is that he things that the U.S. can act as a restrant whoever wins, while it is patently clear to anyone who has followed the suprme court that if that vile woman gets to elect another member of the court, we can kiss goodbye to due diligence and the rule of law. That contrasts sharply with Donald Trump, who has even presented a list of constitutionalists, who aim to preserve the rule of law. So I am at a loss to explain why he thinks that they are both equally bad or why he this that the U.S. supreme court still has conservatives anywhere remotely enough to stop an out-of-control government like the one that woman would run.

Whatever animus he has against Trump is blinding his views here. It seems that the best argument he has against Trump is that he is a boorish man - tell us something we didn't know! If we look at Trump's team, however, we find it comprised of almost exclusively gentlemen.
