That Christianity gives joy and breadth is also a thread that runs through my whole life. Ultimately someone who is always only in opposition could not endure life at all.

Day's Links:
Let us remember that cynicism is a sin. When we see someone who seems virtuous we had better give them the benefit of the doubt until or unless we find out more about them, and we are not obliged to seek dirt on them without good cause.
Some people like to claim that virtue is not important because we cannot know what people do behind closed doors. It is at best a stupid argument as our public behaviour is part of what makes us virtuous, and I am yet to see someone who behaves viciously in public yet virtuously in private. It is at worst an evil argument, evil intentions with inquisitive indifference.
As Mundabor puts it in "It Is Bad To Want To Be Mainstream":
You can’t act like Martin Luther outside and be Padre Pio inside.
Of course, only God can judge our hearts. We can only judge what actions we perceive, and it can be said without a shadow of a doubt that some people who act virtuously might engage in vice privately, but never has there been someone who flaunts his vice and yet remains virtuous in private.
If hypocrisy is the compliment that vice pays to virtue, then we can say that those so indifferent that they do not even bother to pay that compliment are so dark that they cannot tell good from bad, and are either masquerading their evil deeds or their evil thoughts.
In other words, all those following wicked folks using the old "how can we know they are good" card had better get another excuse. It doesn't wash with me and it surely will not wash with God; that much is certain. It is, in fact, the very opposite of what God has commanded: That we do good and keep all His commandments.
The biggest news of the past week, however, has been the charges against Bergoglio laid out in "With Burning Concern: We Accuse Pope Francis", published by the distinguihshed John Vennari, Christopher Ferrara and Michael Matt of Catholic Family News and The Remnant.
The sad news is that it does not cover even 1/10 of Bergoglio's rap sheet, but it is certainly a welcome addition in the case against that evil man, and one we need to spread far and wide.

Fr. Kloster. Inside the monstrance and tabernacle is Jesus, God Almighty, not His Name. Jesus and His Name are two different realities.
