To live without faith, without a patrimony to defend, without a steady struggle for truth – that is not living, but existing.

Day's Links:
So I learn that some animal rights activists committed sacrilege in protesting at St. Patrick's Cathedral in New York.
How utterly tragic, and I agree with Mundabor that it is a sign of the collapse of Christianity and piety in the West. I am, however not as negative in my assessment. Protestants trashed and destroyed many a churches during the protestant revolt, and there was no lack of supposed piety back then. The Church survived and went on to spread the faith far and wide.
Of course, back then we did not have Bergoglio and his bunch of merry agnostics/freemasons/atheists running the Church. We can hope for an improvement on that front. Even the worst of the 16th century popes were better than what we have now, and frankly speaking, better than what we have had for much of the post-Vatican II period.
What I can hope for most immediately is that Catholics at least condemn this kind of action. The problem is that it is very difficult to condemn these kinds of actions when one is silent about the larget sacrilege committed in the recent past - that of Bergoglio covering St. Peter's Basilica with a whose host of images, and on a major Marian feast no less. What Bergoglio did was far worse than what these protesters did. They acted out of stupidity, whereas Bergoglio acts out of calculation, and unlike some hippie - probably drugged-up - protesters who have no notion of the sacred, Bergoglio cannot be accused of being ignorant of the meaning of his actions.
So it is my hope that those who protest at this sacrilege will not stop there but continue in condemning the repeated sacrileges committed by the very man w hose job it is to condemn sacrilege and promote piety and religiousness.

Fr. Kloster. Inside the monstrance and tabernacle is Jesus, God Almighty, not His Name. Jesus and His Name are two different realities.
