No one is forced to be a Christian. But no one should be forced to live according to the "new religion" as though it alone were definitive and obligatory for all mankind.

Day's Links:
The Congregation for the Doctrine of the Faith finally gets serious against the LCWR in an attempt to arrest the heresy that is being spread by nuns. This can only be a good thing and it shows that not all is broken in Rome, that there are still those who wish to take the job entrusted to them seriously. It is good to see some good honest straight talking and the statement was issued with a clarity and forcefulness that has been sadly lacking for a long time.
In another story, a woman kills her unborn child, films it and waxes lyrical about it, putting the film up for public display. It sort of puts the statements of the Pope saying that "social inequality is the greatest concern in the world" (or something to that effect) in context.
To all those who wonder where the Church stands on suitability for ordination to the priesthood, the document "Religiosorum Institutio" should shed much light. It speaks in pre-Vatican II plain language.
I must admit that Cardinal Müller has been impressing me all the more. It is perhaps the case that he feels he has to step up now that his superior is so off the mark in many ways, because I do not recall him being anywhere near this steadfast and vocal when Pope Benedict XVI was Pope. Maybe he feels the need to pre-empt anything Pope Francis might be inclined to say. In any case, I am happy that the office he holds is in relatively safe hands - at least when it comes to the most egregious and flagrant violations of doctrine; a lot can be said about Church discipline which is opposed to the purity of Gospel but that is another rant for another day.
