This being Good Friday, on a short list of 2 days - the other being Easter Sunday - which vie for being the most important days in a year, there is a bit of reflection on what the day entails. I list a few:
Bishop Bernard Fellay of the SSPX spells out clearly the danger that Cardinal Kasper is forcing onto the Church in the sort of clear language which all bishops of the Catholic Church should use. Some of the quotes from Cardinal Kasper's books reveal that he is a man who lost his faith a long time ago.
In "A Saint for Feminists?", we are told that "From the year 1594 to 1978, when John Paul II was elected, only 296 people were canonized. By his death John Paul II alone had canonized 483 people." The case is made that the Vatican II Church has made canonisation virtually meaningless and has not defended authentic womanhood. I tend to agree.
One of my favourite Catholic bloggers seems to be in a bit of a dispute with ChurchMilitant.tv. regardng how to deal with Pope Francis' confusing and often scandalous statements and actions. ChurchMilitant.tv has decided not to attack Pope Francis directly, but Mundabor is insistent that defending the Catholic faith must come before showing courtesy to the pope.
I had heard of the term "Ember days" b ut I had never hard of "Lenten Ember days" and certainly had no idea what it mteans. I am greatful to Fr. Peter Carota - the Traditional Catholic Priest - for introducing me to them.
