Ah come on!
Who was privy to this "conversation"? Who disclosed the "conversation" to the wall street journal to leak? For what purpose?

Cardinal O'Malley insisted Francis had received a letter concerning a chilean abuse victim. A letter which Francis denied receiving but Cardinal O'Malley insisted was passed to Francis. Francis will not suffer any attacks. So I will not believe anything from these minions without evidence.

Even if it is true and Cardinal O'Malley did say such a thing it can be looked upon in another light. It might only prove that Cardinal O'Malley believes that media is all that Francis and his minions care about so he sought he remind the betrayer of the Catholic Church in China, Parolin, of the media implications. There would be little point in appealing to their moral character would there?

The Vatican confirmed that Cardinal O'Malley isn't among the speakers at the summit on homosexual abuse that was his idea.

These prelates fear the media but not the judgement of God. That will change.

Cardinal Sean O'Malley [no word of eternity and salvation] "In my way of thinking, there is nothing more urgent for the church to do than to come together and be able to come up with a way to address what is the most important point of our mission at this point in our history: the protection of children."

Own comment:

This O'Malley character gets a lot of unjustifiably good press because on the issue of sexual abuse of children he seems to do more than nothing. There have been accusations of him covering up as well, but nothing I have followed.

Let us simply remember that O'Malley lent his cathedral to a bishopette from a protestant community which favours sodomy and the killing of unborn children. He then proceeded to receive a blessing from her.

He is very much part of the problem.
