    Thank you. I don't care what Vigano's motivations are. Period. There is never any justification for the molestation of minors, by clergy or anyone else. If the accusations are credible, they need to be taken seriously and investigated. Even if Vigano has a book deal waiting for him, that does not in any way make the violation of young people somehow "ok". People like Mr. Towey should be ashamed of themselves, and he should step down before he brings any more disgrace on AMU.

      While any abuse of minors by clerics is reprehensible, of course, the wider issue is homosexual activity/influence-especially among the clerical hierarchy.

    Thank you Fr. Echert. It is very troubling that so many non traditional Catholics are quick to judge conservative and traditionalists. I know several non traditionalists that expect transparency and expect answers with regards to the latest scandal as well, therefore hopefully they will return to traditional values that we so much need. We have to pray for Archbishop Viganò for he courageously stood for what is just. He will receive an abundance of graces for boldly fighting for truth and justice.

Yay! I too was saddened to see a supposed Catholic college support such evil. Does this President even know Church history? Does he know about the previous popes who were called out for their errors, heresies and corruption by bishops, cardinals etc? The Pope is not God. And conflating Pope Francis' heresy on marriage with the myth of "climate change" as open to conversations of dissent shows this president doesn't know Catholic teaching nor the concept of distinction.

We Catholics follow Truth, for at the end of the day, Truth is a Person: Jesus Christ. Let us pray that this blind president wake up to Truth, follow it, regardless of the cost, and reclaim his Catholic identity along with AMU's. Until this happens, I cannot in good conscience recommend this college that supports prelates that cover, protect and promote child predators.

Just because Pres. Towey made a statement doesn't mean the university as a whole isn't 100% Catholic. The education you receive here is Catholic, and I wish people would remember that Pres. Towey doesn't speak for all of us.

While Towey’s letter, in isolation, is not enough to condemn the whole institution, it has led to many people learning about big changes there in recent years. Some of the articles talking about this have pointed out this is just one sign of a move away from Catholicism that includes eliminating on-campus prayer of the Angelus and driving away many of the orthodox Catholic faculty. According to these articles, Towey was brought in to raise funds, and he thinks that requires obscuring the Catholic identity.

President Towey by his statement has joined the roster of questionable Catholics along with his Board of Directors. Our remedy is to stop our contributions and recommendations of Ave Maria. Making this unnecessary statement was so dumb that it raises questions about why President Towey would have done such a thing.

    Is BerGOGlio a homosexual? This is a question to be raised upfront! In any case, I left a complaint with his office and will follow up with a formal letter. My complaint is directly at Towey, NOT the university. Satan is way too smart to destroy from within.

      He may or may not be homosexual, but he is definitely covering up for the "Lavender Mafia" (homosexual) cardinals that have been controlling his decisions since they threw Pope Benedict out of the Papacy back in 2013.

I believe we Catholic parishioners could force change in the church by demanding that the IRS revoke/strip/discontinue the tax exempt status (501.C.3) of the Roman Catholic Church in the USA; this could cost the RCC billions of dollars in property & income taxes. They would either change or go bankrupt!!!

Let's see: The man promotes homosexuality at every opportunity, surrounds himself with sodomites, promotes the vilest heresies and confesses to being a coprophagian.

I have never had the misfortune of meeting Bergoglio - although I did see him from a distance early on in his pontificate - but I would be confident in concluding that he is indeed a homosexual, and I would argue that we are almost duty-bound to conclude that he is, based on reason, barring future disclosures which might disprove that conclusion.

Now, if that was his only vice we would be relatively okay, but just as modernism is the synthesis of all heresies, Bergoglio seems to be a synthesis of the worst and most unnatural vices, so his possible participation in cocaine-fueled Vatican orgies is, unfortunately, actually the least of our concerns.
