The fact he's an obtuse blowhard in love with sound of his own keyboard doesn't surprise me. Marxist intellectuals invariably are. They're convinced that they can explain away reality in favor of their warped perception of the world. Even today, the Left is still churning out endless paragraphs justifying why an oil-rich Marxist-run Latin American country is bankrupt and in chaos.

Own comment:

It certainly is remarkable how long NOChurch documents are. What is most noteworthy, however, is that the more they write/talk the less they seem to say.

Bergoglio , of course, is the undisputed master of this and although I have little doubt that he gets others to do almost all his writing, it's extremely difficult to actually parse out any sense in them, no matter how long they are, especially since his favourite pope is himself and he quotes himself to no end.

As for the Venezuela comment: Socialism doesn't work, but Venezuela is the wrong country to prove this point, given the massive sanctions and economic warfare waged against it.
