It could have been worse, I suppose, than appointing Farrel as camerlengo, to be in charge of the next papal conclave.

To be fair, I am not sure how - perhaps Cupich, Kasper, Marx - but it could possibly conceivably have been worse.

If Bergoglio thinks that appointing the dreadful Farrell will get us praying for his longevity he has another thing coming.
