He is not the smartest pea in the pod, this Bergoglio. This quote from him shows he is far from a pious one either:

The same must be said for the cry of the earth, violated and wounded in a thousand ways by selfish exploitation.

As for his stupidity, it does not get clearer than with these words:

It must, however, be admitted, that I am not certain whether Bergoglio is stupid or if he simply plays stupid. That statement is about as dumb as it gets, yet we are supposed to believe that this same idiot manages to manipulate his way to the top. Either he at least partially plays stupid, or he has had much diabolical help in manoeuvring his way to the top, because it is difficult to imagine that anybody stupid enough to utter that kind of nonsense can manoeuvre his way out of his bath robe, never mind to the top of the Jesuit tree , then onto a bishop, cardinal and finally manoeuvre his way through his gang of thieves - the St. Gallen mafia - all the way to the top of Holy Mother Church, and then proceed promptly to attempt to smash Her to bits.
