"He anticipated and dismissed his bishop’s reaction..". Does that include anticipating the suspension? :D He's probably banking on a supportive phone call from Pope Francis. The worst part is such confidence isn't unreasonable these days.
Own comment: 

Tthere is more perversion in NOChhurch than one can gracefully stomach. The silver lining in this filthy incident is that the bishop at least seems to want to give the impression of not going along with it.

Let us hope that the suspension will not be lifted in secret, and that the man will be laicised and excommunicated!
