The point that Louie Verrechio brings up in "No More Outdoor Mega-Masses" is one I have made a lot of times, although in private. First of all I don't see the obvious good that comes out of such large Masses. Surely, with "active participation" being the mantra of the Novus Ordo church, such absurdities cannot be condoned? Nobody who attends a Mass with so many other people can feel particularly participative.
Many today will pick off the terrorist event in France as the top news, but in the greater scheme of things, the big event is the interview by Cardinal Burke given a few days ago, and which forms a substantial amount of today's links. In it he decries the feminisation of the Church and sees it as responsible for the man-problem in the Church - few men attend Church and those that do often seem non-committal.
