Superb post. Catholics should take Charles de Foucauld as an example of how to evangelize amongst Muslims.

My sister has a similar experience like you, Vox, where, working in a major Catholic hospital in Toronto, through her conversations with a female Muslim colleague, she has told me on a number of occasions that she has more in common with her on issues of morality than the lapsed, nominal "Catholics" and "Christians".

Remember, in Islam, Jesus is a prophet.

I,too, have dear Muslim friends.

Our obligation and what should be our joy is to reflect the love of Jesus Christ in our everyday lives.

At work, that is exactly what I endeavor to do, each day. The folks that I work with, see it.

May God use me to draw others to Him and may I remain ever mindful that.

May God be merciful to those whose pursuit of Him is genuine.

It is simply awful what happened.

This, indeed, was a heinous act wrought by a so-called white supremacist with an obviously sick mind fed by a godless media through which he gleaned the instructions for carrying out mass murder & who take no responsibility for the easy accessibility of such material which should never have been there in the first instance. He was a loner & not brainwashed by any terrorist organisation. As humans we grieve with the families of the dead who were entirely innocent of any crime - praying to Allah in their mosque.

However, we mustn't forget the age old teaching of Extra Ecclesiam Nulla Salus which is the foundation of the OHC&A Church which PF & cronies have spent the past six years trying to exterminate.

Saint Augustine (died A.D. 430): “No man can find salvation except in the Catholic Church. Outside the Catholic Church one can have everything except salvation. One can have honor, one can have the sacraments, one can sing alleluia, one can answer amen, one can have faith in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Ghost, and preach it too, but never can one find salvation except in the Catholic Church.” (Sermo ad Caesariensis Ecclesia plebem )

Saint Fulgentius (died A.D. 533): “Most firmly hold and never doubt that not only pagans, but also all Jews, all heretics, and all schismatics who finish this life outside of the Catholic Church, will go into the eternal fire prepared for the devil and his angels.” (Enchiridion Patristicum )

Saint Peter Canisius (died A.D. 1597): “Outside of this communion – as outside of the ark of Noah – there is absolutely no salvation for mortals: not for Jews or pagans who never received the faith of the Church, nor for heretics who, having received it, corrupted it; neither for the excommunicated or those who for any other serious cause deserve to be put away and separated from the body of the Church like pernicious members…for the rule of Cyprian and Augustine is certain: he will not have God for his Father who would not have the Church for his mother.” (Catechismi Latini et Germanici).

This ongoing Apostasy in the CC has ignored the Great Commission in favour of Modernism (the heresy of all heresies) which tirelessly promotes the NWO agenda compiled by the enemies of the CC (Freemasonry, Marxism & Satanism). Nonetheless, it is up to each individual by research & prayer to come to the discernment that Christ is awaiting them in His Church & will do so until they pass from this life. If they don't make that judgement they must be held to be doomed. This is a central part of the Creed which we profess at every Mass & also prior to saying the Rosary.

Let's not put off these infidels from submitting to Christ any longer by being nice & allowing them to believe the Torah, Talmud, Koran etc. hold the Truth of eternal life. We, the Laity, must stand together & promote EENS. Our own salvation may well depend on taking this action.

@ Ana Milan,

I have to agree with you (and the long line of Saints) and disagree with Vox (!?). Thank you for that list. I remain centered and faithful by frequent reference to lists like this.

The idea in Catholics that salvation can be achieved *outside* the Church is relatively new. There used to be such dread and compassion for ignorant souls going to hell, that martyrs (such as the North American Canadian Martyrs: Sts. Daniel, Garnier, Lalemant, Jogues, de Brebeuf, Lapland, Chabanel, Goupil) would knowingly leave peace, comfort and prosperity to spread the Gospel to savages in extreme hardship who would likely (did) kill them. A millennia of Crusaders who left wealth, lands, family behind to give their lives and defend the Faith from Muslims intent on snuffing out the Light of the world. Heroes of the Faith. Spreading the Gospel to the ends of the earth. Because *ignorance would not save them*.

Now? We all know where we stand now. The missionary impulse is a dim light indeed. Our Pope places Islam and all world religions on a parallel platform with our One, Holy, True, Catholic Religion under God the Father, Son, Holy Spirit.

I don’t presume to know how God will judge the ignorant. But there are not many ignorant left these days. Most Muslims know of Jesus Christ crucified and our triune God .... and reject Him. They are not ignorant of Christ. They reject Him.

We must be bold in proclaiming: No Salvation Outside Holy Mother Church.

Amen. This is one of those “hard sayings “ that most Catholic try to water down. Invincible Ignorance is actually a rather difficult thing to maintain in this day and age. St. Thomas Aquinas, among others, has stated that God will pull and tug at a person their whole life to lead them to the truth of the Catholic Faith. One has to resist repeatedly grace after grace in order not to come to the truth. He doesn’t just create us and then leave us on our own to grope in the darkness. Anyone who has a very sincere desire to know the truth will eventually find it. But the truth is hard and comes with many sacrifices. The Church also teaches that it is not the ignorance of the true Faith that will send one to hell, but even one unrepented mortal sin. When one considers how hard it is to stay in the state of grace even with the Sacraments, etc., just imagine how hard it is not to commit a mortal sin without them. So even with Invincible Ignorance, one would still have to follow totally and completely the Natural and Moral Law. That in itself is a huge feat without the Faith. And honestly, how many Protestants do you know that may be kind and charitable but who see no problem with contraception, etc? Why do you think the Saints and Martyrs of old risked everything to preach and baptize pagans, even those in remote jungles? One could say they were probably all invincibly ignorant. Did they do it all for nothing? St. Thomas said that if a person was inv. ign. but had a sincere desire for God, God would work even a miracle to bring them to the light of truth in the Catholic Church. That is why you hear of some saints who were even miraculously transported to far off lands to baptize and convert. Why, if one could be saved so easily through inv. ign. and good will alone? Yes, God is merciful and He can definitely save someone at the last minute. But we should consider this the rare exception (as the Saints and Church of old did) and not the common way. So it should make us tremble and do all we can to evangelize. They have always also said that few go to Heaven. It is a narrow road, and few there are who even find it. That is why we can never become comfortable and lessen our efforts to grow in holiness. At the same time, if we do all the that we can to rid ourselves of vice, we can trust in the Good Lord to get us there.

Thank you Ana Milan.... Most Catholics have forgotten this Truth of the Catholic Church. It "must" be believed and acknowledged.

The Church Teaches Ex Cathedra: "The Most Holy Roman Church firmly believes, professes and preaches that none of those existing outside the Catholic Church, not only pagans, but also Jews, and heretics, and schismatics, can ever be partakers of eternal life, but that they are to go into the eternal fire "which was prepared for the devil, and his angels," (Mt. 25:41) unless before death they are joined with Her; and that so important is the unity of this Ecclesiastical Body, that only those remaining within this unity can profit from the sacraments of the Church unto salvation, and that they alone can receive an eternal recompense for their fasts, almsdeeds, and other works of Christian piety and duties of a Christian soldier. No one, let his almsgiving be as great as it may, no one, even if he pour out his blood for the Name of Christ, can be saved unless they abide within the bosom and unity of the Catholic Church." (Pope Eugene IV, the Bull Cantate Domino, 1441) "

Sorry, folks, but EENS is a dogma, meaning it is not up for debate and must be believed as the church has always taught it, and in the sense that she has always taught it. That has been clearly defined. It has only been since Vatican Council ll that they have tried to blur the lines and make false ecumenism the new god. God‘s ways are mysterious, but always just. We cannot wrap our puny minds around His ways, but we must trust the infallible teachings of Holy Mother Church. Not even modernist popes or a modernist council can change the unchanging truths that have been taught for 1962 years.

I do not agree. At this point there should be enough history and experience to teach us Islam is incompatible with the West. We are worse than fools that we have not yet learned the lessons our martyred brothers and sisters have taught us every day in the West, most specifically since 9/11. We continue to look at Islam with wide-eyed Western eyes, and it will be our undoing. Islam will use whatever it has to, to attain it's goal, conquest. We cannot believe our friend and neighbor could do thus. But they do.
The only way for Christians or Jews to have peace with Islam is either temporarily, or by living in separate nations.
Without a Church to know history and properly guide us, we are lambs awaiting slaughter.

If I am not too ignorant in my knowledge of first Christians, they evangelized, but as a tight community. Heretics and unrepentant sinners were removed from the Church. Those who rejected true faith, were not invited to dine with believers. It seems simple - If we are split in our views on the most important things in life, from which our entire lives logically spring, how can we find joy in each other's company? [How I wish it could be not true.]

Rockefeller money has been used for decades to promote a coming together of communities divided by most fundamental conflicts. This was arranged among freemasons and for freemasons, and then imposed on the rest of us without our knowledge.

"Diversity is our strength" is the newly formulated dogma. Dining with friends, Muslims among them, I said: Let us forget ethnic restaurants for a minute, and let us grow stronger through a debate of our diverse religious doctrines.

The Muslim friends responded succinctly - No.

The behind-the-scenes machinations of our lukewarm / moderate rulers have real-life consequences. Whether Bergoglio or Merkel, these people have the top experts and think-tanks at their disposal - to explain to them the consequences of forceful mixing of the inherently conflicting.

God has no son! - Some proclaim!
I would rather have a second holocaust than accept Jesus as Messiah! - State others.

You are my Salvation. You are my way, my truth, my life - We say.

Do not be lukewarm - we hear - or I will spit you out of my mouth.

In response to the massacre in Christchurch, many people talk about peace and unity. They talk about how we all believe in the same God.[I don't mean Vox.] This time it is not Merkel and not Bergoglio, but regular people, who are simply heartbroken over the recent horrific violence. Saying to them: You are incorrect; explaining that we do not believe in the same God, is frowned upon as the most dangerous heresy. "How can you say this at such a time, you are a monster, may you never find a moment's peace for the rest of your miserable life!" - I heard the other day.

Our rulers want a one world religion. They created a problem, through a prolonged rape of nations, they predicted (all these think-tanks and experts!) an inevitable reaction, and they have had a solution ready, long before they embarked on this fun ride, as they have sipped exquisite champagne.

Look at this headline:

"Christ's church slaughters innocent, pious Muslims."

No, I have not seen it, but this is what will remain, once the novelty of this crime wears off.
Not a mention of a simultaneously occurring slaughter of over a hundred Nigerians, pregnant mothers among them, raped for hours until breast removal and slow death.

According to the terrorist's or - if not entirely his - "a" manifesto, he is not religious, not a far-right, not a Trump supporter. Who would have known?

There was much information about the perpetrator, removed immediately after the slaughter. [Some of us, who had a glimpse of it, will forever be tortured by what we have seen for a short second. - "They" wanted us to see it, so that when we speak of these things, we will be condemned, diagnosed with hate or at least mental illness.] He is not what they make him to be. I don't claim to know what happened. I claim to know that we are being fed a narrative diverging from truth. Rather than providing information, the media hides it.

Pure tragedy, Australia is not looking good lately, a witch-hunt trial against the church, leading to a innocent Cardinal thrown in prison for being a true, faithful Apostle who stood against this demonic tide, that has now gripped the entire world, and now a fruit-loop killing innocent people. Yes indeed Vox there is good Muslims. Butchery and wickedness has befallen the western world. A Godless society has caused the murder of so many, from babies inside their mothers womb,(euthanasia) killing of the most vulnerable, and so much more. May God, the father, through his most Holy son,Jesus forgive the sins of all those who have been brutality murdered. R.I.P

Vox, I am grateful for your fine post. Thank you.
My own opinion regarding the discussion of EENS, is that this is a truth which here is a red herring, a fruitless digression in the context of the viewpoint expressed in this posing.
I challenge any defender of EENS to demonstrate that the Catholic Church is a visible body in full communion with Rome, which is now a place of heresy and scandal to any faithful Catholic. The Roman Catholic Church as presently visible in the world, has no unity at all in truth, in Faith, or morality. It has an open and shameless rupture with its past - and therefore with its Saints, especially its Apostles and Doctors - and therefore with what Christ Himself gave to the Apostles to teach and preserve in their successors until His return. The Catholic Church's apparent unity is a usurped possession of the outward institutions, maintained by fear and blackmail by those in the hierarchy of power.

The faithful glean Grace and live their lives almost unseen in the choking tares sown by Satan.
The angels will sort this out in God's time, but meanwhile, we should all work out our own salvation in fear and trembling, loving God above all things, and our neighbour - even the least of them) as ourself. The Great Commission (Mt28: 19-20) is to all of us, not just the clergy, and we have to do our best in this regard.
I commend Vox for his efforts to do so.
God bless you and your readers.

Own comment:

There was a terrorist attack in New Zealand last Friday. About 50 people are reported to have died at the time of writing, 41 in one mosque and 9 in another.

I was harsh on VoxCantoris the other day, writing that he doesn't think much of the lives of Muslims in the Middle East who happen to be victims of U.S. policy. He is, of course, of Arab origin himself. I stand by that, but on this point he is correct: This act cannot be excused, justified or minimised in its evil in any way or form. Sadly, others do not seem to either agree with him on this or to get the point he is making.

It matters not that Christians are being killed by Muslims elsewhere; that is to be expected, for that is what Islam does. What matters is that this particular act by this particular man cannot be defended, and we are in for a rough ride if we attempt to minimise the horror by pointing out that Christians are killed every day in Muslim or near-Muslim countries.

One commenter, Kathleen1031, wrote the following:

The only way for Christians or Jews to have peace with Islam is either temporarily, or by living in separate nations.

She has fallen into the modern idiot's view - straight from the mainstream/entertainment media - that there is common cause between Christianity and Judaism. She probably does not know that Muslims and Jews have fought side-by-side to destroy Christianity for ages, and that many Islamic invasions of Europe were supported by Jews. She seems to think there is more similarity between Judaism (or whatever Talmudic version of it goes today) has more in common with Christianity than it does with Islam, or that there can be a truce or common cause with it. The only way for Christians and Jews to have peace with each other is to live separately, because it seems we have 2,000 years of history telling us that the Jews will attempt to destroy Christian civilisation wherever it buds.

What we have today is a false alliance between Christianity and Judaism, most shockingly exemplified by the whole Judeo-Christian nonsense. What we have in reality is a world in which Talmudists and freemasons have broken down the barriers that separated Christian Europe from largely Islamic Middle East, and have these 2 groups at loggerheads. Christianity and Islam are not natural bedfellows, but for sure, Talmudists gain more than any other in seeing Christians and Muslims fighting. In the meantime, they will take more Arab land and watch as Europe tears itself apart from its internal decadence, its suicidal demographics and the replacement of Christianity with Islam through immigration.

Wherever Talmudists have come to power, slaughter has ensued. It happened in Soviet Russia, and is happening now in the U.S. and Europe.

We must say no to this. By all means let us speak up for Christians in Muslim countries, but all the more for Christians in formerly-Christian Western countries, which seem to have now embraced Talmudic values and are coming for all of us with little or no resistence. It's because we have been blinded into looking towards Islam as the main threat, and not Talmudists, freemasons and secularists, all of whom seem hell-bent on doing the devil's work and destroying everything in sight.

A good start would be to call evil evil and good good, regardless of who does it.
