    I believe Archbishop Lefebvre is a saint a model for us to follow in fight against Pope Francis. I hope his order faithfully follows his legacy going forward.

    Couldn't agree more. Archbishop Lefebrve gives a strong, sincere, and charitable lesson on how to combat the modernists whether in the hierarchy or not. Strongly suggest everyone who wishes to dismantle the attacks of schism and Protestant accusations pitted against those who attend SSPX chapels, read the saintly Archbishop's books and Pro Apologia Marcel Lefebrve by Michael Davies.

    So does this mean a priest (Pagliarani) outranks a bishop (Fellay) when it comes to the SSPX?

      The bishops were never intended to always be superior generals of the society, for example Father Schmidtberger was the superior prior to bishop Fellay.

    I believe so. The Bishop's have no jurisdiction and are there to ordain priests and give the sacraments to the laity such as confirmation. After reading many of the Archbishop's books it seems to me he never intended for the Bishops to lead the Society, but for sacramental reasons only. I pray that strength will return to the Society with this appointment. What I've read of Fr. Pagliarani, I have hope.

    it means that Bishop Fellay can get back to his bishop duties and leave stearing the SSPX ship to someone else.

      Thank you Bishop Fellay for an incredibly difficult job so well done over 24 years. What a herculean and courageous effort, steering the SSPX ship through a continuous storm throughout all those years, keeping it together and wearing attacks from enemies without, from the Vatican and even from within. And you continued to do it with that serene smile, just like Archbishop Lefebvre. I pray that Fr Pagliarani is cut from the same cloth.

      Le Figaro are reporting that Father Pagliarani won the support of his confreres after opposing Bishop Fellay's steps towards a regular canonical status for the SSPX. Then again, Le Figaro could be the French fake news equivalent of CNN - I don't read enough of that rag to know. Our family really appreciated Bishop Fellay's leadership, and will continue to oppose all his so-called Resistance detractors. We will be praying for the new superior general to lead with similar wisdom.

I like Bishop Bernard Fellay. It is my hope, however, that the change in superior will allow the SSPX to take aim against the current Vatican regime much harder and much clearer than the good  Bishop Fellay has been doing.
