This is how the highly organized and highly motivated enemies of the Church are going after prominent, conservative, (hated) Catholic Bishops. It's no coincidence that their targets are always strong vocal opponents of same-sex marriage and abortion.

The recent Cardinal George Pell Case fits the playbook perfectly.

...a totally unbiased, impartial jury (/sarcasm)
...reaches an anonymous verdict
...decades after the alleged event,
…on the uncorroborated evidence
…of one single witness,
…without any forensic evidence,
…without a pattern of prior grooming behaviour,
…without a confession. (Most pedophiles plead guilty)

They weaponise the legal system to exploit the now-default presumption that all clergy accusers always tell the truth - never confused , never schizophrenic, never homoerotic fantasy.

Repeatedly denies accusations.
Has never faced corroborated testimony by multiple accusers.
Has never been linked to incriminating forensic evidence.
Has been subjected to allegations which subsequently were found to be false.
He forcefully prosecutes the Church's purge of atheists and pedophiles masquerading as priests.

Hmmm. The atheists who hate the Church usually proclaim themselves to be unbiased clear thinkers and rational skeptics. Not so when it comes to prejudice against strong conservative Catholic Bishops being framed as scapegoats.

I continue to be amazed at the sort of charges which are brought up against people nowadays. Whatever happened to statutes of limitations?

In any case, if you make your deal with the world, the world will come after you after you have outlived your usefulness. Cardinals in NOChurch are finding that out right now, and it's interesting that they have chosen to go after ones who are relatively innocent instead of the absolute perverts.
