It is sad that there are what you might call professional Catholics who make a living on their Catholicism, but in whom the spring of faith flows only faintly, in a few scattered drops. We must really make an effort to change this.

Maybe the German bishops' letter didn't have enough footnotes. Maybe Bergoglio felt it was too much too soon. Either way, the Germans' plan for intercommunion has been rejected by the Vatican.
The interesting thing to note is that none of the commenters at OnePeterFive took any consolation in this letter by Ladaria, which is very telling because OnePeterFive is not exactly a traditionalist hub. The mainline tradition-leaning Catholics are fed up with Bergoglio and his antics and distrust anything he does, which is well and good as nobody has earned mistrust more than this odious boorish man who goes by the name of Pope Francis, at times anyway, when he's not too busy giving himself other titiles.
