You say it approprietly. For me it's very frustrating to read people from other parts of the world, talking about indians and missions in Iberoamerica. This is the region that saved, together with Spain, the Church and it's the part of the world with most catholics. Of course, we are living proof that identity is not race, but spirit, since we are a thousand peoples, mixed more or less in our DNA, but totally, in our culture. This bergoglio church is an attack on us, an attack that has been going on for centuries, an attack funded and manned by the United States of the north part of OUR continent, that people that didn't bother evangelize indians: they are british, superior *.... OK, that's out. Now, don't talk about what you don't know, just because you have read three internet articles

* I know there are many unitedstatesians that don't deserve this part of my clarification, but many do, so it's aimed at them, not at you, my unitedstatesian brothers...

Or say that Bergoglio is not the Pope, and be catholic.

Own comment:

I am not sure why eticacasanova decided to segway into an anti-American rant on something largely tangential to the piece, but for what it's worth I am in agreement with him.

There is no doubt that there is a great deal of racism inherent in those who think that the Amazonian population cannot learn the Faith, and little doubt that the U.S. bloodthist towards South America has been driven by both racism and rampant anti-Catholicism through the ages. The anti-Catholicism is no doubt still present, given evangelicals do not care much for the faith, and old-style mainstream protestants look down on those with darker skin given their pseudo-religions are largely ethno-centric.
