Yesterday I spoke with the Boss of our local woodyard (who specialise in Oak) about the availability of sufficient oak trees for the new beams for Notre Dame. He just shook his head and replied that for many years he has had problems in finding enough suitable sized trees to fulfill his modest requirements.

Macaroons statement that it will be repaired in 5 years is sheer nonsense. Where are all the stonemasons coming from?

  • Macron is making it up. He wants to appear heroic. He said that France will begin training stone cutters! By the time they're trained (if indeed they are trained) the five years will be up. There are serious concerns about the structure now, the earlier optimism is fading. Cracks, water damage, loose gables, etc... all threaten the building.
