In any organisation it is natural for the people to go for the 'quick wins' or management speak 'the low hanging fruit'. So it seems for the police, arresting breast feeding mothers is far easier than catching nasty burglars who might get rough.

I wouldn't personally identify myself very much with Linehan or Greer. They remind me of the Jacobins who found themselves guillotined by those succeeding Jacobins who shared their ideas, but only in a more extreme fashion.

It is twistedly logical that Greer's notion of equality should eventually lead to the extreme of biological equality, for it is the premise of 'equality' which is wrong, in the first place. Vive les differences.

A brave post and much appreciated.

By the way, while the police are right on the enormity of wrong pronouns, they overlook trivialities such as burglaries, am I correct?

I had the exact same feeling when I was in Dublin last autumn: rainbow flags everywhere, in breathless anticipation of the upcoming 'Pride March'. ('Pride' used to be one of the seven deadly sins; sodomy was so bizarre it didn't even make the list.) This was, I distinctly felt, what it must have been like in Paris when all those swastikas fluttered so proudly.

It wasn't long afterwards, if I have my chronology right, that once-Catholic Ireland, with the full support and connivance of its homosexual PM, reversed its constitutional ban on abortion.

Here in England, the BBC and Channel 4 try to out-do each other in championing the normalisation of homosexuality and other perversions (with our money, no less). It's nice that the few curmudgeonly voices Fr H alludes to still speak from whatever platform is left to them, but really, it's far from enough. Where are our Catholic bishops? They have a teaching office. Why aren't they speaking out against this depravity, as they did in the days of the early church?

(Oh yeah, now I remember why ...)

It's nice that there are a few

Regarding 'the rainbow' and its uses:

At the Canadian end of The Rainbow Bridge from Canada to the US there is an imposing tower - it even has bells. At the base is a large tablet on which is written the story of Noah, and the Rainbow God showed as a sign of....etc.

If you wait in line to get through the Custom windows you have lots of time to read it - gosh, it's gotta be 15 feet high. I often wonder how this little marvel slipped through the fine-toothed comb of the homosexualist folks.

Dear Fr., Tony V asked, vis-à-vis transgender and other sexual weirdness and perversions so popular amongst the media and political establishment today: "WHERE ARE OUR CATHOLIC BISHOPS?" (Caps mine) He may well ask! I've often wondered that myself. He went on: "They have a teaching office. Why aren't they speaking out against this depravity, as they did in the days of the early church?" It's obvious why. Because most of 'em are professional career bishops who want to keep their jobs and hopefully get promoted. (Look at Cupich.) They are basically politicians who owe their jobs to a Politician-Pope and keep their heads down. They suck-up to the UK Establishment and the regime in the Vatican. The poor little things are not valiant Christians as were the REAL LEADERS & APOSTOLIC TEACHERS, the great Bishops of Catholic history! THEY taught and led their flocks, even unto death as martyrs. The UK today has a bunch of sad little insignificant Bishops and tiny Cardinals cowering before the populist vastly immoral culture; infamous in their lack of valour. OH, just a thought: perhaps some of 'em actually agree with the UK establishment's present pop-immorality? If they do, they should excommunicate themselves, as it were, by resigning and joining the CoE where most trendy stuff get accepted eventually and are written into doctrine - as long as there are enough votes in the synod. (I really mean no offence to our CofE friends but that does seem to be the truth.)

When Islam takes over officially will the police still arrest the indigenous people for transgressions against transgender pronouns? I have heard most political leaders such as mayors, etc., in London are now Muslim, and Muslims make up a growing segment of the population and they have lots of children, so their ascent to full control seems a given, but when that happens, will they care so deeply about LGBT issues, or is this a temporary phenomenon until they take the reins?

The Noahide movement identifies itself with a rainbow flag.
This is not a coincidence friends and neighbors.

Please remember, that when you praise those who have publicly supported the great evil of abortion all their lives, and who have constantly mocked those of us who wish that the innocents get the same chance at life as we have had .... the same protection of the laws that we had .... please remember that even if you praise them in a witty way ....
please remember that you are praising people who support the greatest evil that can be imagined, the slaughter of the innocents, the slaughter of the innocents before they get even a single moment of pleasure in this world, before they get even one look of love from a fellow human being.

I have some good advice for you. People who suffer so much that they want to change their bodies to resemble the bodies of unattractive people of the opposite sex are VERY DIFFERENT from people who have comfortable lives, who are not all that bright, and who support abortion of the innocent. Yes the two groups overlap, but not completely. Try and remember that. You are obviously very intelligent and it should be easy for you to understand.

Thanks for reading.
And if I missed the fact that Germaine Greer is pro-life, I apologize. I don't think she is, the poor old woman.

You are absolutely correct, Stephen. I believe one of the key ingredients in the present-day triumph of Leftism and all its attendant evils is that leftists, unlike us who supposedly stand for sane and decent Christian principles, never EVER attack their own (until, that is, the Revolution is accomplished, at which time they turn on each other and devour one another voraciously). More importantly, psychologically speaking, they never EVER compliment or praise their ideological foes. We, in our foolish and ultimately self-destructive liberal complex to appear fair and charitable, go out of our way to "give the Devil his due." I, for one, will not give the abortion fanatics and other leftist devils "their due," even when in their perversions once in a while they hold something that may be true or somewhat logical (a rarity among them these days). If that makes me uncharitable, unfair and equally ideological, so be it. Better that than the ignominy of being bullied into social non-existence while whimpering about the few things our bullying castigators may be right about. It used to be that Christians had self-respect and dignity---but these, too, have been sacrificed at the altar of ecumenism and social "respectability" (read "cowardice"). Domage, as our French friends, who know something about selling out, would say.

Own comment:

It is difficult to think that future generations will not judge us harshly, and I am in agreement with Fr. Hunwicke that they will come to see sodomy flags the same way people see nazi flags - as a sign of occupation and subjugation. Quite how we allowed a tiny minority to subjugate the rest of us to their wicked ways will be an even weirder question than how the nazis came into power as even I struggle to understand how it happened. At least the nazi flags had some aesthetics about them. The sodomy flags are just plain ugly and revolting.

Indeed, the truth will come out in the future.
