Is any intelligent person surprised by this?

...

I think the vast majority knew that there was something seriously wrong about the retaliatory attacks on Syria. After all the lies, all the costs and all the misery that followed on from Iraq and WMD, some still imagined that their government would be inclined to "do the right thing". Even they were hard-pressed to accept that rockets and bombs were any kind of sensible, measured response.
The implications are quite appalling. A kind of "moral high ground" achieved at great cost during the twentieth century has been frittered away by the likes of Bush, Blair and Cameron. To imagine that morale and "self belief" only matter to the armed forces in time of war is frighteningly stupid. When societies lose their sense of identity, their morale and their self belief, we descend into a world where "anything goes". To call it the "world of the jungle" does huge disservice to the beauty, balance and order of jungles.

Thank you for this further information. Having just read some of the other leaked OPCw memos and emails, I must admit that I did not realise that Ian Henderson had been suspended from his job (as mentioned in the May 2019 memo to Veronika Stromsikova) .and that the circumstances of his dismissal were so undignified.

Nor was I aware that the OPCW in replying to external requests about Henderson's leaked engineering report lied, when they claimed that Henderson was not part of the Douma FFM team. The May 2019 memo indicates that not only was he part of the team, but he was the only engineer on the team and took part in the operation under extremely dangerous circumstances.

Given so little interest in the MSM about this story, I won't hold my breath about other media reporting it.

why it’s totally expected first: Syria were winning the war comfortably and had absolutely no need to use chemical weapons. In fact, they knew that such an act would risk that victory because it would cause the west to use their massively superior forces against them. On the other hand their opponents were losing and had a vested interest in persuading a gullible west to attack Syria. So on pure logic, it was obvious to me what had gone on. Now let’s move to shocking: firstly the pure evil of the people who actually did this. They deliberately murdered their own people in a vile, and excruciating way in order to cynically goad the west into action. They are liars and heinous murderers whose wickedness is vile in the extreme. Secondly, the gullibility of the west is both worrying and shocking. Either they believed the unbelievable or they cynically used this as cover for their dangerous attempt to undermine Russia strategically - thereby risking a massive and deadly war - possibly in order to appease Saudi Arabia, that provider of western oil and funding to wahhabi Islamic extremism worldwide. Thirdly the way that the report has been doctored, the extent of the cover up and the complicity of mainstream media in failing to properly report this scandal is deeply shocking. It begs the question why? Are the media in hock to Arab money in some way? Are they worried that their sympathy for these extremist terrorist groups might be revealed for what it is: sympathy and common cause with some of the most evil people who have ever walked this planet? Or perhaps the antisemites in the western establishment (media and political) don’t want to face up to the evil they are backing. Which is it? Perhaps the answer to the reason for this totally shocking scandal will be the most shocking of all. Well worth a well funded documentary and box set.

The OPCW is one floor in a house of cards, and it's owners are fighting tooth and nail to save it from collapse. If this floor falls in, it will take the whole house with it:: the Whire Helmets and all the 'evidence' they have provided,The Atlantic Council and that organisation's lickspittle, Bellingcat, thus destroying any justification for the West's continued aggressive foreign policy in Syria.

...

This is so important. It is deeply disturbing that there seems to be zero coverage of this story elsewhere, even considering that it's a busy time for UK news. Has anyone else covered this at all?

...

I agree that this meddling is politically motivated and goes against the very reason the OPCW was set up - but is it any more or less important than the meddling which goes on at the IPCC? Its all designed to make us think a certain way and act in certain behaviours - and at the heart of it is our "trust" in supranational bodies. I believe they have abused that trust and can no longer be justified or tolerated - that includes the UN, EU, WHO, IMF or any other supranational body.

We do things so immoral, people would not believe it. Just as Geobals said.

...

All Theresa May had to say was we are firing 200 cruise missiles off to show everyone who doesn't capitulate to us how mad we are. And we don't care about facts.

...

no profit in peace, Peter
took me nearly 50 years to grasp that

Own comment:

As one commenter notes, no intelligent person believed the narrative of the Douma attacks.

Furthermore, I take issue with another commenter who states that the "moral high ground" that was there has now been lost. The West never had any moral high ground after World War II, only the perception of it based on all the lies they have inflicted upon the world.

The more the truth comes out the more people realise it, which is why they have to lock up those who reveal the truth - such as Assange - and demonise the rest - such as Russian media - and calumniate the rest - racists, anti-semites, or what not.
