The little I've read of Pope Urban VI paints a picture of a very strange man indeed. On the one hand, he is described as having been previously a devout monk; on the other, after his ascent power seems to have gone to his head.

Own comment:

Whenever I come up with a what-if scenario tring to wake people up to the idea that a pope can go rogue, and that Bergoglio very well has, I often end up thinking as Nicolas Bellord did:

Please do not give Pope Francis ideas.

The idea in question is that of the pope having those who oppose him on just grounds tortured and executed.

The man seems to have enough wicked ideas as it is and there seems to be no depth to his depravity, so one ought perphaps to hope that these fanciful worst-case scenarios do not come anywhere near his attention.
