They definitely are covering up for his INCREASING unpopularity. The wedding stunt on the airplane (that we are now discovering was really pre planned, and not a 'spur of the moment impulse' at all) was meant to be a 'quick fix' for this disastrous trip of his. (that they knew wouldn't turn out well) What they may not realize is how transparent he really is.

I have lived here in Chile for almost 5 years.
NOTE: In almost every Chilean joke an Argentinian is the butt of the joke. The Pope in this case, proves this to be true.

There is a saying here in Chile when asked about his visit:

We are informed of the following:

Francis went to the peripheries on January 18th in Lobito Beach (Playa Labito) in Iquique, Chile, home to nearly two dozen migrant slums to celebrate his mess.  Preparations were made for over 300,000 fawning fans but according to television reports only 90,000 (if it was that many) were in attendance.

If the pictures shown in the article present an accurate picture - and they do seem to do so - then there is no doubt about it: Bergoglio is an unpopular pope. From the pictures it would seem to be a whole lot fewer than 90,000 who attended the event.

If he cannot even get anything close to a full house in Chile on several occasions, then it might not be long before the media masters realise that the lie of Bergoglio's popularity cannot be upheld much longer.

It would then be a case of taking out the popcorn and sitting in waiting while the scandals from Bergoglio's past are presented to us one after another. The very fact that we have not been treated to such scandals is proof that Bergoglio is in league with whoever controls the major media outlets.
