I don't care for this mixing of rites and then, a poor mix. PF is wearing a preaching stole to look like an epitrachil as he is in an Eastern Christian country and Eastern clergy are con celebrating.

Sorry for multiple postings, I'm on my phone. Anyhow, he should just vest properly for the Roman Mass and not try to represent something that does not exist and then, with a Roman Vestment. It's like costuming.

So did St. John Paul II in 1985!

Luckily it's not an impediment to canonization.

In a way, this post is reminding me of the one from one to two weeks back regarding the departing archbishop of Atlanta and the light attendance at his farewell mass. Thinking about that, wouldn't it have been better to have simply blended the farewell with a scheduled Sunday mass (perhaps for his intention) followed by coffee etc where he would have been available to greet the faithful? That seems more sensible to me as opposed to what was done and what I am guessing was embarrassment that the multitudes were not in attendance to laud/worship man along with our Lord? I think this perhaps could be an interesting topic to explore but, where does one draw the line with such masses so that (at least, in my opinion) it does not become an abuse of the sacrament? If necessary, there are other liturgies outside of mass, such as vespers, that could have been celebrated. Maybe I am totally off-base or, maybe I have just been in the East too long but, it seems as though the Novus Ordo Roman Church will offer the holy sacrifice for just about any reason outside of the ones that are familiar and expected. Is this potential overreliance an abuse? I would be curious and grateful to hear the thoughts of others here.

Own comment:

Our NOChurch popes can't even dress properly when they have  a staffon hand to help them do it. These people are making a mockery of the Church.

It is difficult to taken anybody seriously who does not even dress properly for his official functions, although at least in Bergoglio's case, making a clown of himself is probably for the better as it might get people to realise just what a buffoon he is, and those who are lucky might realise he is an evil man who does not care one hoot about the Church and completely ignore him.
