Really there are several problems with this, starting with the obvious fact that not a single Catholic that shares my concerns would be even talking about this if the Pope was orthodox. No one would be saying the Pope wasn't important or didn't matter, and to say so is to be historically illiterate at best and willfully ignorant at worst. The Pope was the central cog upon which all of Christendom turned for over a thousand years. His word decided the fate of the realms. Catholics from antiquity to now have looked to the Pontiff for guidance, direction, and leadership. He is Christ's Vicar. His role is inestimably important. To suggest that the our present situation is not awful is wrong-headed.

The fact is this that none of this occurs in a vacuum. The Church has changed with the Conciliar Revolution, and that change has been embraced by successive generations and now in an absolutely unprecedented event the highest office in the world has been seized. Worse yet it was not by force; the whole leadership of the Church assented to this. They elected him just like they have every pope since John XXIII.

In a Pre-Vatican II world, Jorge Bergoglio could not even exist. His actions would have gotten him defrocked long ago, and potentially even executed if he persisted. Instead through absolutely canonical means he attained the Papacy.

The Faith, undoubtedly, is still true. But there's another dimension to this: the validity of the Conciliarist Sacraments. This is something Father Hesse himself has talked about. The fact is it is the present Catholic Church is entirely Modernist and Conciliarist. Everyone else is a splinter faction, who's own ability to administer sacraments may be in doubt. Even when they're not, some of these folks - such as Father Nicholas Gruner, just to name one example - are downright insane. They are political madmen, cultivating a cult-like atmosphere through fear and conspiracy theories. Some Trad chapels I've been to were downright Nazi sympathizers. In what backwards world do I live in where the only options I have as a Catholic are between Modernist Heretics and Fascist Madmen if I want the sacraments? I won't even get into those people and their fallacies; that's something for another day.

In short the state of the Papacy and the hierarchy is a huge, huge, huge problem for the Faith in today's world. "The Gates of Hell shall not prevail over the Church," specifically refers to heresy. But is that not what we see now? Heresy having complete control of the Church, even up to Rome itself? Christ guaranteed us this would not happen but it occurs before our very eyes. Those who might argue Francis is truly orthodox have no real defense for him and why he allows certain things to continue as they do.

So, I gave up on the Modern Church. I have retreated from it. There is nothing for me there. I went looking for Traditional pastures and I found some. Then the Fascists absorbed them, because these cowards wanted friends and sharp uniforms and an excuse to vent their rage more than they wanted to keep the True Faith and our civilization. I've slowly watched this cancer consume us, and trying to cure it is as fruitless as curing real cancer. There is nowhere for me to go.

I've accepted things as they are, and I'm doing what I must. I'm done being angry. I'm done fighting a losing battle. I'm done watching the things I love get destroyed by people who are their guardians.

I have always had faith, and always will. But I have to accept that the temporal no longer matches the spiritual and there's not a damn thing in my power I can do about it.

So I step back. I watch. I wait. I hope.

There's nothing else I can do. Damn the Council, damn the Church, and damn everyone who's helping to keep it this way. For hate's sake I spit my final breath at them.

Sincerely,

Parker Woods-Wilson
