The Orientation of Saying Mass is hidden in the first Noun "Orient". A Bishop has no absolutly no power to order Saying Mass versus Populum. When carefully reading the latin instructions of the Missal in Vigor he would find the instruction to turn versus the flock before saying "Pax Vobiscum". This instruction would be unnecessary if it has been ordered to celebrate versus populum by the Editio typica MR 1969.

The archbishop will not tolerate a priest saying mass facing the crucifix. They must face ,"man" instead.

We should not be surprised that where seeds of a move towards authentic Catholicism start to bloom, a NOChurch bishop will attempt to snuff it out. I am in agreement with Dr Bobus:

So-called 'conservative' bishops, of course, also have their revolution to defend. It's not called NOChurch for nothing.
