Perhaps only German academics could conclude from a study of 3,677 cases of abuse most of which were perpetrated by men upon boys under 14 that "the rejection of the ordination of homosexual men should urgently be reconsidered." I suppose once we have abolished clerical celibacy, paragraphs 2357-9 of the catechism and the age of consent the entire problem will have been solved.

Eliminating celibacy is deranged enough. How does one get to suggesting legitimizing homosexuality as a solution to homosexual abuse? Anyway, it is not as if anyone was lifting a single finger to end homosexual activity. Isn't that more than abundantly clear? What? Are they saying that legitimizing consensual homo-sex will eliminate non-consensual homo-sex? No. This isn't complicated. And it is spelled out well up above. Supposed abuse is being used as an excuse to usher in the idea of ending celibacy and legitimizing homosexuality. Truly evil.

Dr Bobus Sep 12 The German bishops are little else than tepid Protestants who will use anything to undermine doctrine or the priesthood. They are a good example of scholarship without understanding. A German scholar could produce a multi volume work without understanding any of it--lots of footnotes. Arrogant blindness to their own false assumptions. Own comment: 

It is important to begin viewing sexual allegation claims with suspicion, especially when they involve  priests long dead and especially when those who issue reports finish them off by attacking clerical celibacy.

That NOChurch has a lot of sexual deviance is without question, but that does not mean we should entertain the notion that any allegation is warranted.
